While the NDIS application process can be complex, here are some basic steps to get started:
Check your eligibility
Before applying for the NDIS, check if you meet the eligibility criteria. You can find the eligibility requirements on the NDIS website or by contacting the NDIS.
To be eligible for NDIS support, an individual must have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities. They must also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and meet other eligibility criteria.
Contact the NDIS
If you think you’re eligible for the NDIS, contact the NDIS on 1800-800-110 to request an Access Request Form.
Complete the Access Request Form
Fill out the Access Request Form and provide supporting evidence, such as medical reports, assessments, or other documentation that shows you have a permanent and significant disability.
Attend an NDIS planning meeting
If your application is accepted, you’ll be invited to attend a planning meeting with an NDIS representative. During the meeting, you’ll discuss your needs, goals, and aspirations, and develop a plan that outlines the supports and services you require.
